expedient: Netbooks, and Google Docs

It took some time before I hope gave up an early translation of Google Docs in the German language. Now I have switched over there> Settings finally to "English UK" and can take advantage of this great offer from Google, if I go with my little netbook is not online. The application Although it is called Google Docs, but my modest knowledge of the language sufficient for it; =). Google Docs Offline

What is it?
This application allows text, spreadsheets and presentations that have been created online to view off-line (= view) and in part to edit (= edit). The extent of the photo shows.

How does Google Docs offline anyway?
Google Docs uses Gears, a free open-source supplement for the web browser. About Gears, all files / information to the hard disk of the computer stored and regularly synchronized with the online data. If one has not have Internet access exploit, these data are then synchronized to the next access, if applicable.

How to switch an all that?
First, as already stated, change the language, and then share via> Offline Google Docs for Gears. With a little patience is the first installation and then you can see a small status symbol, whether online (green) or offline (colorless) is.

As you work offline later?
on the desktop of the computer is placed a Google Docs link on the Web browser can be started. The work is different, in principle, not by working online.
All of you should try it again, whether with a notebook or netbook, thinks

The course was completed yesterday and was a complete success. With Reimer Hoffmann, we were able to perform endoscopic cubital tunnel release supported operation. After an hour were all confined spaces from the "arcade Strutherschen" down to the fascia Osbornschen "released" to put it in business terms. Even the "Anterior interosseous syndrome and Supinatorsyndrom" are addressed by this method. Here were the opinions divided. But in the next few days could be a wide anatomical dissection of all the nerves shown proximal to distal. Everyone could explore in the excellent and fresh preparations, additional approaches such as the proximal radius, and eliminate the fear of future operations. The students wanted to know what additional courses from us, from the already existing list will be added.

Since April, we make use of SLO with great Enthusiasm Mikogo, the small software with great effect . For us moderators that we help all older people in volunteering in the use of computers and the Internet, is the "talking on Skype" and the "point of Mikogo "since the cherished habit.

have now brought the makers of the Mikogo Version 2.0 on the market in which, fortunately, the private use for up to 10 people is still free. Here are some impressions:

• Meeting Scheduler
This calendar now allows a clear anticipation of the meeting. The participants can send an e-mail invite. Call it the "modified for each meeting, meeting ID before the meeting on, they end up in a nice waiting room.
• White Board
were far made marks on the monitor of the presenter only one additional software. In the new version of this really useful tool is now integrated.
• speed
When using standard broadband connections and up to 10 people (I personally I tried it successfully with 6!) can be shown almost immediately all activities on the same monitor to the other participants. Even simple changes in digital images can be demonstrated. With a little patience (seconds, not minutes) can also show slide shows, however, will need to be manually switched on!

The Mikogo Team a "big" Thank you on behalf of all SLOer says
