Beautiful Frenchwords

TONGUE LADEN ERSTE NACHT

Opening speech by Nadin Reschke and Özge Accikol:

Welcome TONGUE! Welcome! Hosgeldiniz! I'm sure everyone of us knows the situation in which further brings not one's own language. Gertrude Stein says, "It is a well known fact that no human being can really stand not being able to tell someone something. (...) Any one will not tell any one even if that one does understand the language the other is talking persistently attempt to tell that other one something. "Language connects us to a very special way with this world. And it starts every word that leaves our tongue immediately life of its own. Us a close and from areas and groups in the world. to start a language course, which creates a whole new language, by all those involved in this course is not entirely over-looking projects on the Oda Projesi and I have discussed for two years already. We are pleased and excited that today is so far. We hope that we teach in the coming weeks here in common languages, learn and invent, which are beyond the write-ups, groups and classes. One thing is already clear, after this course, each speak differently than before. So, get loose their tongues!

Tongue is a project about language. It is imitating a language course, in which every coursier can be both student and teacher. Everyone has its own personal grammar, everyone can create new languages and every person has the right to talk a hybrid language created within the situations of his/her particular daily life.
We are making this course because we believe that the language that is dictated by the macro politics is not a language that one can use within the daily life and it destroys the richness of the ways of expressing oneself by making all the people talk the same way. The communication between people doesn’t need a “perfect” language, but a “common” language to which every person can contribute, not only a third language but also fourth, fifth language that can be multiplied infinitely.
My expectation would be that the new grammars coming out from Tongue Sprachkurse will create a totally new space where people from different backgrounds meet and talk to each other with their own languages without falling into any prejudice. I really hope that it not creates another mixed language category that is pointing out to a specific group of people but a language created by the people meeting in this space around the course. And I hope we all together explore new ways of expressing ourselves.
